Tonbridge Giving Day is all about raising funds for our life-changing Foundation Award bursary programme. Each year, for 36 hours, we bring the School community together to take part in a series of fun challenges, whilst giving back to our local community and creating more bursary places for talented boys without means.
For Giving Day 2023, Parkside will be taking on a new series of challenges in the community, as well as Donor Challenges which you can participate in too!
Each year, we have honed our construction and landscaping skills at Royal Rise Primary School, laying woodchip, creating a quiet reading area, building benches and raised beds, building a new shed and installing water butts in the school’s forest school.
Last year, we also hosted an outside learning day for the children, working with them on mini-beast, plant and tree ID activities, and supporting a range of fun sporting sessions. This year sees a repeat of the learning day, this time, based around playground games. The project has funded lots of playground equipment such as new basketball hoops, skipping ropes, stepping stones and balls. The boys are challenged with coming up with suitable games that the children can learn and re-play during playtime, encouraging a more active lifestyle and developing social skills.
We will also be competing once more, in a ‘spectacular’ House Taskmaster challenge, results of which will be announced tomorrow.
But to complete all of our challenges, we will need your help. If enough people tag their Giving Day donations to Parkside, we'll unlock even more funds! Check the bottom of this page to see each of our donor challenges, and please show your support for Parkside by making a donation today!
